TAT bike tour of Old Phuket Town
PHUKET: The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) office in Phuket is inviting people to take part in an educational bike ride around Phuket Old Town on May 23.
The four-hour ride, which starts at 7am, will be a cultural tour of the town with stops at historically important sites and explanations about the local way of life.
The event is open to all who wish to take part, both Thai and foreigners, except for children under seven years of age.
Applications will be accepted from May 10 to 23.
A 100-baht application fee covers a free T-shirt and two meals.
Officially named ‘Chill Chill Cycling Along The Roadside,’ the tour is organized by the Phuket Biking Club and Phuket City Municipality, with support from the TAT.
The ride will start from the TAT office on Thalang Road, then continue on to Phuket Road and Saphan Hin.
The return leg will visit Kra, Rassada, Ranong, Phutorn, Krabi and Satun Roads.
The ride will finish around 11am with a meal at the Lok Tien food center.
