Rawai villages pronounced drug-free

RAWAI: In the countdown to declare Phuket a drug-free province by November 30, seven villages in Rawai and Nai Harn have been pronounced free of illegal drugs. At a ceremony at Muang Phuket School on October 24, Vice-Governor Pongpow Ketthong asked more than 400 locals to pledge in front of a picture of HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej not to become involved with illegal narcotics. K. Pongpow said, “All these villages have been ‘X-rayed’ by the Phuket Provincial government and they are qualified to show these signs, which say the villages are sustainably free of drugs.” The seven villages are Moo 1 Baan Nai Harn, Moo 2 Baan Rawai, Baan Koh Lone, Moo 1 Baan Bang Konthi, Moo 2 Baan Bang Konthi, Baan Laem Phromthep and Baan Saiyuan.
