Phuket roof painter seriously injured after electric shock, 10-meter fall

PHUKET: A man is in serious condition at Vachira Phuket Hospital after he suffered an electric shock while painting a roof and fell 10 meters to the ground in Karon yesterday.
Jakkapon Limmui, 26, was first rushed to Patong Hospital to receive treatment for serious injuries sustained in the accident, which occurred at a building on Patak Road near Karon Circle.
“Mr Jakkapon was painting on the roof close to high-voltage cables when a strong gust of wind caused him to lose balance and touch his metal paint brush against a power cable,” explained Lt Weerayuth Thansirisukhaworakul of the Karon Police.
“He was then shocked and fell 10 meters to the ground.”
Mr Jakkapon was transferred from Patong to Vachira Hospital in Phuket Town due to the severity of his injuries, and is now under close watch by doctors in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), confirmed Lt Weerayuth.
