Phuket Gazette partner Nation Group wins top Asian media awards

PHUKET: The Nation Multimedia Group, of which the Phuket Gazette is a part, won two key prizes at the 10th Asia Media Awards ceremony in Bangkok last night.

Photographer Watcharachai Klaipong won gold for his photo of emergency relief being delivered to stranded flood victims.

“After seeing all the entries in this award category, I feel very proud of my achievement,” said Mr Watcharachai.

Adul Daengmool, chief designer of the Nation Group’s Thai-language daily Kom Chad Luek, won silver in the ‘Best In Design’ awards in the ‘Newspaper Front Page Design’ category.

The award presentation ceremony, held at the Shangri-la Hotel, was presided over by Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva.

The event was organized by the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA).
