Phuket FC take on Krabi on Saturday
PHUKET CITY: Phuket FC will face Krabi at Surakul Stadium on Saturday in what will be their final chance for a home win this season.
In six home matches so far, Phuket FC have failed to accumulate a single point, losing all six encounters – many in heartbreaking fashion.
Saturday’s match, which kicks off at 7pm, is the home side’s final chance for success in front of their fans before next season.
Despite earlier this month losing coach Somsak Waijeran, who resigned following a sequence of bad results, the Sea Dragons go into the match in high spirits on the back of a confidence-boosting victory away at Nakhon Sri Thammarat last weekend.
A goal each side of half time gave Phuket FC a two-goal cushion, and although Nakhon pulled a goal back, the visitors held on for a deserved victory, their second of the season.
The win also lifted the Sea Dragons off the bottom of the table, leapfrogging Phatthalung who were in seventh place.
Opponents Krabi are the only other team that have lost to Phuket FC this season, suffering a 1-0 defeat at home back in April.
The visitors are currently lying in fifth with 14 points.
