Phuket Airport reopens

PHUKET AIRPORT: Phuket International Airport has re-opened, two days after protesters stormed the facility, forcing it to close.

Although there are still protestors at the gate to the facility, the first flight is expected to land within the next 15 minutes.

More than 1,000 People’s Alliance for Democracy protesters on Friday overran the main gate. Some parts of the main terminal were damaged, and protesters made their way onto the runway, forcing airport authorities to halt all flights in and out of Phuket.
