Officers inspect Bunchoo land
PHUKET: Crime Suppression Division Deputy Superintendent Pol Lt Col Korawath Panprapa this morning inspected seven properties either owned by or involving former Chief of the Kathu District Land Office, Bunchoo Limraksasin. Accompanied by land officials and officers, Lt Col Korawath inspected two shophouses on Soi Baan Hua Kuan, in Kamala, one of which houses a Thai massage business. The shophouses belonged to Bunchoo’s former private secretary, Mena Kala. The officers then inspected a 10-rai plot just 100 meters away, before moving on to another property in nearby Soi Musayid, then to a house belonging to Prutya Pattani. The investigators moved on to Patong, where they inspected a plot on Soi Phra Baramee 3. The title deeds for these six properties were among the documents seized from K. Mena’s home on Monday. Also checked was a 300-square-meter plot near the Prince of Songkla University campus on Wichit Songkhram Rd, in Kathu, which belonged to Bunchoo’s wife, Jinda. On the property is a dry foods store and and motorbike repair shop. The committee investigating Phuket’s land problems has yet to reveal whether any land titles under scrutiny will be revoked.
