Municipality to seek public feedback
PHUKET CITY: The Phuket City Municipality has issued an invitation to all residents of the area to attend a public meeting to offer opinions on how the city can be improved. The meeting, on June 2 at the Thavorn Grand Plaza Hotel, will run from 1 pm to 5 pm. Proceedings will be in Thai only. Phuket Governor Udomsak Usawarangkura will speak on the importance of local planning. There will also be presentations by Vice-Governor Winai Buapradit; Lertkiat Vongpuaphan, Chief of the Phuket Provincial Governor’s Office; and Veerun Hangsawat, the municipality’s Chief Administrative Officer. At 3:15 pm the meeting will be thrown open to the floor. “The municipality would like to give local people an opportunity to provide feedback,” K. Veerun told the Gazette. “All ideas and problems brought up will be used in the preparation of plans, budgets and strategies to develop the area.” To register to attend the meeting, call the Phuket City Municipality at Tel: 076-222932 between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm on government work days. Registrations will also be accepted on the day.
