GM takes wheel at Cassia Phuket
PHUKET: Banyan Tree has appointed a new General Manager for the company’s most recent hotel residences, Cassia Phuket.
Ilias Vamvakas will be taking the reins at this the third property in the company’s portfolio after having worked and led teams in various hotels around the world, including: Sandals Grande St Lucia Spa & Beach Resort and The Sealine Beach Resort in Qatar, as well as hotels in Germany, Barbados and his homeland, Greece.
Mr Vamvakas, who has a diploma in hotel management from Oxford Brookes University in England, is excited to be taking up the position at Cassia Phuket and helping shape the property.
Cassia Phuket will be opening in November this year with a hotel concept that integrates cutting edge design, street art and an a la carte menu of services for guests to choose from.
The property will launch with 221 hotel residences, and will expand to 326 with a second tower to be added by 2017.
