Crown Prince to come to Phuket
CHALONG: HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej has named HRH Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn as his Royal representative for a religious ceremony to be held at Wat Chalong on September 23. During the ceremony, the Crown Prince, accompanied by his wife, Mom Srirath Mahidhol Na Ayuthaya, will place a bone fragment of Buddha in its official resting place in the new chedi at Wat Chai Tararam, better known as Wat Chalong. The chedi, at 61.39 meters tall and a cost of 66 million baht, was built specially to house the bone fragment, or Phra Borom Sareerikatat, which was brought from Sri Lanka in 1999.
