PHUKET: Café del Mar’s José Padilla will be playing his signature sunset chill out tunes this Thursday at Anantara Phuket Resort & Spa for a night of ‘Silk Rhythms’.

Party goers at the luxury resort’s vast pool-scape can sip sparkling wine in the water with a broad view of the sun setting over the sea while the ‘Godfather of Sunsets’ fills the evening air with blissful vibes.

DJ José Padilla will be stationed poolside, synchronizing his chill-out beats to a showcase of unique Jim Thompson silks made for the occasion and sensually shown off by a selection of Thailand’s top models.

“It’s a barefoot event with a ‘coastal fashion’ dress code, so bring swim wear and come prepared to slip into the pools or chill on the loungers and bean bags in and around the infinity pool,” said Anantara’s Area Director of Sales Vivian Ng.

“Everything is laid on for anyone who wants to take a dip. Attendants will be on hand to take guests’ footwear, hand out towels and serve drinks around and even in the pool,” she said.

Cocktail creators Flow will also be serving up a unique range of drinks conceived for the Infinity Sunset launch event, which begins at 5pm. A coastal barbecue dinner will be served in the infinity pool from 7pm.

Guests can choose to join the ‘Sunset Session’ with a free first drink or the ‘Free Flow Bubbles’ (an hour of sparkling wine served in the pool), or go for the all-inclusive option of free-flow wine and food from the barbecue.

José Padilla is much more than just a mixer of dance beats. The Spanish DJ became widely known in the 90s for his unique brand of melodic, uplifting instrumental ambient music in the series of Café del Mar albums, which now number 15 volumes.

Those attending Anantara’s Silk Rhythms event will be among the first to experience José Padilla’s latest blend of extreme ambient infused with classical Spanish sounds dubbed ‘Bella Musica’.

Ticket prices for tomorrow’s event range from 1,200 to 2,700 baht. For more information or to make a booking contact Khun Jinny on 089-9735810.
