Alien landing in Phuket tonight, and other events
PHUKET: Today will be packed with fun events across the island, as the Phuket high season for tourism hits full stride.
Over in Patong, people who think they have seen just about everything Bangla Road has to throw at them might want to stop by Seduction disco at about 10pm, when a half-alien, half robotic being is widely rumored to be making a spectacular appearance.
At Saphan Hin in Phuket Town will be the much-awaited draw to see who will drive away with a new Honda City, the grand prize in this year’s Red Cross Fair, which continues through Monday.

The annual charity event always draws huge crowds for the prize draw and this year should be no different. The draw gets underway at 10pm.
Starting at 6pm in Phuket Town, the FC Phuket football club will be making what well could be its last appearance ever at Surakul Stadium.
Fortunately, the ban on cheering and singing imposed earlier by the Football Association of Thailand has been lifted, so the diehard Hulk and Mask supporters will have much to cheer about, and possibly cry over, as their side plays the last scheduled home game of the year tonight against Bangkok FC.
It should be a good night for football, alien watching or whatever it is one chooses to do. The Meteorological Department’s forecast for the 24-hour period starting at noon today calls for a slight chance of isolated showers with a cool easterly breeze prevailing.
For a full listing of all important events taking place on the island, pick up a copy of the latest Phuket Gazette, available at news stands all across the island, or click here for Phuket’s largest and most comprehensive calendar of events.
The Gazette would like to wish all our readers a safe and happy weekend.
