Phi Phi National Park to punish illegal beach vendors
The Phi Phi National Park Office is set to punish businesses that put their signs and kayaks on the beaches.
Following complaints about signs and kayaks on the Loh Dalum Beach of Koh Phi Phi, the Chief of Had Nopparat Thara Mu Ko Phi Phi, Worapot Lomlim, said that the National Park officers will strictly enforce the law.
“However, there must be an integration from other departments and the current punishment is too soft, so the vendors are not scared.
“We don’t have a policy to allow tour business signs, kayaks, beach loungers and umbrellas for rent on the beach. It is public land. However, every time that the officers visit the beach to enforce the law, the vendors know in advance and take away their items beforehand.”
“I want to warn all the vendors that putting their items on the beach to make business is against the section 16 law of the National Park Act.”
