One death in Krabi from Dengue Fever

“From Jan 1 to May 5 there are 266 of Dengue Fever patients which are 57.08 per 100,000 of populations. The numbers of patients are always similar at around this time of the year.” This from the Deputy Director of Krabi Public Heath Office Doctor Chalermpol Osotpromma.

“One patient has died from Dengue Fever in Krabi this year. Most patients who are currently diagnosed with Dengue Fever are between the ages of 15 to 25, a total of 67 patients. Students who are also currently under treatment make the total of under-25 year olds 141 patients,” he added.

“Dengue Fever is widely spread during rainy season especially where we find water sitting around. Dengue Fever can be prevented by cleaning both inside and outside your houses to get rid of spots where Aedes are breeding, the mosquito variety that carries the virus,” he explained.

“Signs of the dengue fever are high fever, muscle and joint pain and rash. People must go to see doctors immediately if a high fever continues for two to three days,” he noted.
