Thousands miss 10,000 baht digital payout due to outdated IDs
The Ministry of Finance, through the Comptroller General’s Department, has initiated the disbursement of 10,000 baht digital money payout to targeted groups under the 2024 economic stimulus programme. This effort includes those with state welfare cards and persons with disabilities.
The payout, which took place on September 25, 26, 27, and 30, reached a significant number of beneficiaries.
According to Pornchai Teerawet, Director of the Fiscal Policy Office and spokesperson for the Ministry of Finance, the funds were successfully transferred to 14,057,341 of the 14,438,628 eligible recipients.
However, 381,287 individuals did not receive their payments due to various issues, primarily relating to incomplete or outdated disability identification cards.
The ministry plans to rectify these discrepancies through a series of retry payments. The first retry is scheduled for today, October 21, with subsequent payments on November 21 and December 19. Individuals must update their disability identification cards and link their bank accounts to their national ID numbers to ensure they receive their payments.
The retry payments are set as follows:
- First retry: Money transfer today, with the requirement to update disability identification cards by October 10 and link bank accounts by October 18.
- Second retry: Payment on November 21, with the requirement to update disability identification cards by November 12 and link bank accounts by November 18.
- Third retry: Payment on December 19, with the requirement to update disability identification cards by December 3 and link bank accounts by December 16.
The ministry advises those with expired or incomplete disability identification cards to visit their local disability service centres to renew or update their cards. Additionally, recipients should check their state welfare card and ensure it is linked to their national ID to facilitate a smooth payment process.
Pornchai further revealed that Individuals who have completed the e-KYC process by August 31 should verify the status of their disability identification cards. Failure to update information may lead to the cessation of payments after the third retry, reported KhaoSod.
