Thai speedboat worker’s ‘fish feeding poop’ video sparks outrage
Drama erupted on Thai social media after a revolting Thai speedboat worker shared a video of himself defecating into the sea near Thian Beach on Koh Larn, an island in the Bang Lamung district of Chon Buri.
The 35 year old man, Ohm, shared the video on his Facebook account, showing him defecating into the sea while sitting on a boat, with a caption that read…
“Have you eaten yet? I’m worried about you. Look at me, I really have a kind heart, pooping to feed the fish.”
The video did not receive the positive feedback Ohm expected, so he deleted it and later locked his profile to prevent netizens from digging into his personal information.
Unfortunately, his video remained on social media, as one netizen, disgusted by his revolting actions, saved and reposted it in a Facebook group for Chon Buri residents. Some agreed with this netizen that the act was inappropriate, while others surprisingly stated that it was a normal practice.
“You will never understand this if you are not a fisherman. A fishing boat is not as comfortable as your home. There is no bathroom. Stop your blind optimism.”
Those who disagreed responded that it was not about blind optimism but about the image and reputation of Chon Buri tourism.
Following the ongoing drama and pressure, Ohm came forward to issue an apology. He explained that he worked with multiple speedboat operators in the area and was responsible for finding boats to serve tourists.
Ohm said that urinating and defecating into the sea were part of his daily routine, and others who worked in the same industry did the same. He usually hid the boat behind a larger boat to prevent tourists from seeing his actions. He shared the video for fun and regretted what he had done.
Ohm promised to refrain from his actions but did not make known whether he would stop defecating into the sea altogether or just stop recording videos of himself doing so and sharing them with the public.
