Thai man finds body in abandoned house after nature calls

A Thai man told local news agencies that he almost lost control of his bowels after stumbling upon a man’s body in an abandoned house in the central province of Kanchanaburi.

The man, whose name remains undisclosed, alerted officers at Lin Thin Police Station to the abandoned house in the Thong Pha Phum district of Kanchanaburi province to investigate the death. The dead man was later identified as 46 year old Ekkasit Kitjathonwisit.

Officers arrived at the scene with rescuers from the Kanchanabuti and Khunnadham Foundations. They found a red motorcycle parked in the house’s garage, with the key still in the ignition. Police did not clarify whether the motorcycle belonged to Ekkasit or the man who discovered the body.

Ekkasit’s body was found inside the house, surrounded by numerous empty alcohol bottles. The body was dried out, leading officers to conclude that he may have died at least three to four months before the discovery.

The man who found the body told police that he was on his way home when he urgently needed to defecate and could no longer wait to reach his destination. He entered the abandoned house, intending to relieve himself there.

However, upon entering, he was overwhelmed by a foul odour and temporarily forgot his initial purpose as he searched for the source of the smell, eventually finding the body. The shock of the discovery made his situation even worse as he struggled to maintain control over his urgent need.

The report did not specify whether the man managed to find a suitable bathroom before the arrival of the police.

Ekkasit’s body was transferred to Thong Pha Phum Hospital for an autopsy to determine whether foul play was involved in his death.

A similar incident occurred last month when three bodies were discovered in an abandoned pickup in the northern province of Kamphaeng Phet.

The pickup, which was covered with a tarpaulin, emitted a strong smell, prompting locals to call rescuers to investigate. The deceased were identified as a family of three, a couple and their seven year old son.

The discovery led to the arrest of the perpetrator, identified as Siwakorn, who confessed to murdering the family after they refused to lend him 100,000 baht. He admitted to shooting the man, followed by his son, and finally his wife.
