The incident occurred yesterday, September 12, when the teenage girl was walking home alone. She encountered Panomporn fishing near the Suk Kasem community bridge in Pathum Thani. He deceitfully offered to take her home, but instead, he forcibly took her to an unnumbered house and raped her. After committing the crime, he let the girl walk back home on her own.

Upon discovering what had happened, the girl’s mother immediately took her to the Pratunam Chulalongkorn Police Station to file a report. As soon as the crime was reported, Panomporn fled the scene. Investigators quickly requested an arrest warrant.

Further investigation into Panomporn’s background revealed an extensive criminal history. He was previously convicted for gang-raping a 15 year old girl and served an 18-year sentence at Phitsanulok Special Prison. He was released in February 2020 but did not reform, as he repeated similar offences.

Police Major General Saruti Kwangsopha, along with Police Colonel Korkiat Wutjamnong and Police Lieutenant Colonel Surasak Yitbueng, led the operation to capture Panomporn. They discovered that he had been hiding with relatives in Rayong. Upon his arrest, Panomporn confessed to all charges against him.

“He admitted to the crime and provided a full confession.”

The police have now handed Panomporn over to the Pratunam Chulalongkorn Police Station for further legal action.

Police urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to prevent similar incidents in the future. They are also working to provide support and counselling to the young victim and her family, reported KhaoSod.

In related news, a 12 year old Thai girl fled the southern province of Narathiwat for help in the central province of Nonthaburi after a gang rape by 13 men, including her older brother’s friends and relatives.
