NACC unveils Cabinet members’ assets

PHUKET: The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) yesterday announced the assets and liabilities of 33 Cabinet members who were endorsed on September 4.
As per the declaration, Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has net assets worth 128 million baht, including 12 watches and nine guns, while his family’s combined assets, including those of his father, brother and children, is 466mn baht.
PM Prayut’s liabilities stand at 654,745 baht in the form of loans from banks and financial institutions. PM Prayut told reporters that the money owed was related to investment bonds, adding that he could not remember the details.
“But all my assets are accounted for, I have no concerns about this,” he said.
Among the Cabinet members, the richest is Deputy PM Pridiyathorn Devakula, whose net assets amount to 1.37 billion baht, followed by PM’s Office Minister Panadda Diskul, who is worth 1.31bn baht. The third richest is Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister Peetipong Phuengbun na Ayutthaya, who has 830mn baht in assets.
Education Minister Narong Pipatanasai and his spouse appear to have the least, with their net assets amounting to 6mn baht.
