The rear of the bus collided with an electricity pole at the roadside, and its windscreen was shattered. Rescuers rushed all 11 injured victims to Phang Nga Hospital. Two of them were in critical condition, including the three year old boy, who sadly succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

According to a report by Siamrath, the bus departed from Phuket and was heading to Phatthalung province. Heavy rain at the time of the incident caused the road to become slippery, leading the driver to lose control of the vehicle.

The police have not yet pressed any charges against the driver. Further questioning of the driver and passengers is expected to take place soon.

Another young boy tragically lost his life in a road accident in the Isaan province of Buriram in December last year.

The boy had been flying a kite in a sugarcane plantation when a Thai man driving a combine harvester passed by on a nearby road.

The driver claimed he believed the boy was aware of the vehicle and continued driving slowly. He suspected the boy, focused on his kite, ran towards the tractor, resulting in the fatal accident.
