Kayak and tour ad signs on Koh Phi Phi being moved off the beaches

The Krabi Tourism Association President, Wattana Rerngsamut, has commented following complaints from tourists in Krabi about the large amount of tour companies’ advertising signs and kayaks on the beaches of Koh Phi Phi.

“Some beaches in Krabi have become like a crowded market. People who are making their own businesses there do not see the importance of management for all, just their own benefit,” he said.

Loh Dalum Beach of Koh Phi Phi is now filled with tour company signs and kayaks along the beach, which is starting to get a lot of complaints from the beachgoers and locals who like visiting the beach.

There was a similar complaint about the same issue last year and Had Nopparat Thara Mo Ko Phi Phi National Park officers went to the beach and removed all rented beach loungers, chairs, tables, umbrellas provided by beach vendors as well as more than 100 kayaks that were placed along the beach.

The Tourism Association President is calling for similar action and enforcement again before the situation gets out of hand.
