AusCham brings together local marine and hotel industries

The Australia-Thailand Chamber of Business (AustCham) held a seminar on Phuket’s Marine & Hospitality Industry Outlook at the Phuket Boat Lagoon last Friday, September 8, 2017.

The seminar hosted over 60 guests and was moderated by Harry Usher from Lady Pie. The panelists were Michael Owen from Beacon Sky Hospitality, Wicky Sundram from Phuket Boat Lagoon, Scott Bradley from Precision Yachts and Andrew de Bruin from Multihull Solutions.

Amongst the topics discussed were the outlook of the hospitality industry, which complements the marine industry, as Phuket is the regional hub for marine activities. With the growing number of tourist arrivals to the island panel members shared their outlook to find mutual synergies between these two economic contributors.

Shortly after the seminar, guests were taken on a short guided tour of Phuket Boat Lagoon highlighting the new and enhanced facilities, like the newly expanded hardstand and Phuket’s latest family attraction, the Ice Arena, which is scheduled to open towards the end of November this year.
