Motorcyclist dies in tragic collision on Pathum Thani road
A tragic accident occurred when a young man on a motorcycle collided with a van turning into a convenience store. The impact sent him flying onto the road, where he was hit again by a following car, resulting in his death. Friends revealed the deceased had been speeding.
The incident took place around 5am yesterday, November 6. Inspector Parada Tantiroongarun of Suan Phrik Thai Police Station received reports of the motorcycle and van collision, with the motorcyclist tragically hit and killed by a car nearby.
The accident occurred on the road parallel to Khlong Prem Prachakorn, at the entrance to Phakruisa Village 90, Mu 4, Suan Phrik Thai subdistrict, Mueang district, Pathum Thani province. The scene was investigated by experts from the Ministry of Justice’s forensic science department and the Ruamkatanyu Foundation.
Upon arrival, officials found a deceased male without any identification on his person. Nearby lay a damaged Honda Click 125i motorcycle, registered in Bangkok, with its front completely wrecked.
A short distance away, officers found a Toyota van registered in Bangkok. The vehicle’s left side was damaged, with a broken taillight and side mirror. The 51 year old van driver, Wichan, was waiting for the police at the scene.
In the middle of the road was a Toyota sedan, also registered in Bangkok, with damage to its right bumper. The driver, 22 year old Sureeporn, was present and awaited police attention.
Motorcycle accident
According to Wichan, he was driving from Khlong Prem and was about to turn into a convenience store when the motorcycle, speeding from Wat Prem Prachakorn, collided forcefully with the back side of his van and was flung onto the road.
Sureeporn stated she was driving behind the van, on her way to take her uncle to Pathumvej Hospital, when the motorcycle collided with the van and its rider was thrown onto the road. This sudden event left her unable to brake in time, leading to a severe collision with the rider.
Friends of the deceased mentioned he worked at a warehouse and was on his way to drop off a junior colleague at a location behind a nearby village. They confirmed the motorcyclist was riding at high speed.
Inspector Parada, after examining the scene, recorded images for evidence and reviewed nearby CCTV footage. The footage showed the motorcycle crashing into the van, causing sparks and a loud noise, reported KhaoSod.
Both the van and car drivers were invited for further questioning at Suan Phrik Thai Police Station. Meanwhile, the Ruamkatanyu Foundation was tasked with transporting the deceased to the Ministry of Justice’s Forensic Science Institute for further examination.
