Thalia Graves accuses Diddy of drugging, raping and beating her

Thalia Graves accuses Sean “Diddy” Combs of drugging, assaulting, and raping her.

Thalia Graves is accusing music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs and his bodyguard of drugging, assaulting, and raping her in 2001.

In a lawsuit filed Tuesday in a federal court in New York, Graves alleges she met Combs when she was 25 through her boyfriend, who worked at Combs’ record label Bad Boy. During the summer of 2001, Graves states she was in a vehicle with Combs and Joseph Sherman, his bodyguard and head of security. After accepting a glass of wine, she began to feel “lightheaded, dizzy and physically weak.”

Graves lost consciousness and later awoke naked in a Manhattan studio, with her hands tied behind her back. The lawsuit then states Combs came into the room and raped her, smashing her head into a pool table as she tried to resist.

The lawsuit also states Sherman sexually assaulted her as she came in and out of consciousness.

Diddy’s mounting legal disputes

At a news conference alongside attorney Gloria Allred, Graves spoke through tears about how the alleged assault had damaged her physically and emotionally.

“The combination of physical and emotional pain has created a cycle of suffering from which it is so hard to break free,” she said.

“I want to continue on this journey towards recovery and healing. I’m glad that he is locked up, but that’s a temporary feeling of relief.”

The lawsuit is the latest allegation of sexual violence against Combs. It comes a week after his indictment on charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution.

Combs, 54, has pleaded not guilty to the charges. He was denied bail and will remain in federal detention, a federal judge ruled.

The indictment accused Combs of leading a “criminal enterprise” with other associates and employees. Allegedly, Combs hosts drug-fueled “Freak Offs”, hedonistic sex parties with victims and male sex workers who note instances of physical and sexual abuse.

A raid on his LA home in March discovered weapons and a large collection of baby oil and lubricants.

Graves’ trauma from the abuse

After Graves was attacked, she was in pain and distress. Driven by a livery driver to hospital, the lawsuit states she did not leave the car as she was “shaking and crying hysterically.” The lawsuit further states Graves was “terrified of what Combs would do to her and her family if she reported him.”

Because of the rape, Graves suffers from severe depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. She also alleged she has attempted suicide.

In November 2023, she learned from her former boyfriend Combs and Sherman recorded and published a video of the assault. According to the lawsuit, they also have shown it to others.

The suit accuses Combs, Sherman and businesses associated with Combs of violating New York’s Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Act. It also accuses Combs and Sherman of violating state civil rights law and city administrative code.

Combs is now staying in a dorm-style room at the Metropolitan Detention Center. He now shares a space with former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried and former Honduras President Juan Orlando Hernandez.
