Holiday Inn opens in Ao Nang

PHUKET: The Holiday Inn brand has arrived on the coastline of Krabi with the company taking over the 55-guestroom Sala Talay Resort and Spa on Ao Nang beach recently.

“We are pleased to announce the initial phase of the opening of our first Holiday Inn property in this beautiful region of Krabi.” says Steve Ng, the general manager of the property, “We hope that all our guests will be able to enjoy a true home away from home experience when they stay with us.”

The resort is situated alongside the stunning Ao Nang beachfront and has a contemporary, yet environmentally sensitive style, that naturally blends itself into the area’s beautiful environment.

Guests are provided with a full range of services and facilities, including an outdoor free-form swimming pool, a resort fitness center, Kid’s Club and a well-stocked book and DVD library.

Holistic Thai massages and treatments are offered at the resort Spa.

Cuisine spanning the Asian continent can also be savored at the InAsia dining venue, which enjoys panoramic views of the idyllic surrounds of Ao Nang Beach.

The resort’s rooms range from 45 square meters to 95sqm.There are 19 Deluxe rooms and 21 Pool Access rooms that offer 45 sqm of free living space and comfort. The 13 Grand Deluxe Suites are 65sqm and ensure total privacy and relaxation.

The two Penthouse Suites are 95sqm of space and afford views over the hotel grounds.

In-room features include: a large walk-in rain shower, bath tubs in all rooms, free WiFi and a spacious balcony/terrace area, with pool or scenic views over Ao Nang.

In the next 12 months, the resort is planning to undergo a significant expansion.

“Initially we will have 55-rooms and suites for our guests from November 1 this year, but we plan to announce the complete opening of our 188-room property to the public by October 2013.” Steve Ng concludes.

The new wing of the property will house the Holiday Inn Kid Suites, which will offer private areas for both parents and children, each with separate sleeping berths.

The kids’ section of the suite comes with a bunk bed and a play corner that includes a flat screen TV, a DVD player and a game console.
