Construction: Thai Watsadu Phuket now open for business
PHUKET: Numbered are the days of expensive and overpriced construction, home improvement, furnishing, landscaping and gardening materials in Phuket: The Central Retail Group have officially opened the doors of their Thai Watsadu store on Thepkrasattri Road in Thalang, just north of the Heroines Monument.
Phuket Governor Maitree Inthusut presided over the ribbon cutting this morning, which was also attended by a number of local officials, executives and media. In his inauguration speech, Gov Maitree described the new center as a “supermarket for builders”.
“Home improvement” doesn’t do justice to the store; “city improvement” is a more accurate term, considering its sheer size and selection of materials – superior to anything else on the island or region for that matter. Thai Watsadu Phuket stocks everything builders could ever need for their projects – building, refurbishing, electrical, plumbing, landscaping or gardening – boasting over 100,000 items at wholesale prices.
With retail space of more than 21,500 square meters on a 41 rai plot, the new outlet will be operated on a membership basis, with promotional memberships being offered this morning for as little as 20 baht.
With parking for up to 120 vehicles, the new Phuket outlet – Thai Watsadu’s 35th and reportedly largest branch – employs 300 locals, and represents an 800 million baht investment.
Thai Watsadu is open from 7:30am until 7pm. For more information, call 076-601300 or visit thaiwatsadu.com.
