A groom’s meltdown at his wedding, where he splashed wine and kicked glasses, caused quite a stir on social media. A wedding guest tried to explain that the groom kicked off because he was defending his pregnant bride and her humble family from his father’s disrespectful remarks.

The Vietnamese website, docbao.vn, shared a video showing the groom losing control of his temper while both families stood on stage. The incident began when the groom offered his father some wine, but instead, his father rejected the gesture and insulted the bride’s family, causing the groom to retaliate by splashing the wine and kicking over some glasses.

The unexpected scene disrupted the wedding ceremony and drew online criticism of the groom’s thoughtless and disrespectful behaviour.

However, the incident’s backstory has prompted further discussion. His close friend explained his outburst was meant to protect his pregnant bride and her struggling family. He said…

“The truth is that the bride’s family had to arrange everything themselves because the groom’s family did not agree with the marriage. The groom offered wine to his father for a blessing, but his father disrespected the bride’s father and her family, saying they did not know how to raise their daughter. The groom was furious because he loves his wife deeply, and that’s what led to the dramatic scene.”

The friend also mentioned that initially, the groom’s father had refused to attend the wedding but changed his mind later. After gaining the trust of everyone, he then chose the wedding ceremony as the platform to insult the bride’s family, Sanook reported.

The groom’s breakdown remains unclear, but everyone wants their wedding day to go smoothly and be happy. However, some argue that the groom should have restrained his emotions and addressed the issue after the wedding, as respecting both families, friends, and guests is an essential aspect of protecting the bride as well.
