Thailand Golf Travel Mart 2018 being held in Phuket

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is hosting golf operators from international markets to meet with suppliers at the Thailand Golf Travel Mart 2018 with the catch-phrase ‘World Class Golf Destination’.

The event is being held in Phuket from July 23-26 and hosted by Phuket Governor Prakob Wongmaneerung, Public Relations Director of TAT Thanet Petchsuwan and golf, tour, and hotel operators around the world at the Duangjitt Resort and Spa in Patong.

Khun Tanet says, “Phuket is attracting a lot of tour agencies as there are many well-known tourist destinations surrounded y beautiful nature on the island. Golf is another interesting part of sports tourism in Phuket.”

“Thai golf tourism has generated a lot of revenue to the country. In 2016, about 400,000 players came to Thailand generating an income of 4.8 billion baht. The average spending per person for golf is about 12,215 baht per day which is twice that spent by other tourists.”
