Three arrested over murder of laborer
PATONG: Police have arrested three men for the murder of Boonsong Sulaopa, a 31-year-old construction worker from Loei, whose body was found dumped in a ditch near Laem Daeng Beach, between Patong and Kamala, on November 24.
Pol Capt Sophon Borirak, of Kathu Police Station, said that police had charged Pacheun Muangnontasri with murder, while his brother Boonjan and fellow laborer Narongsak Sa-sai were both charged with being accessories to murder.
All three worked at the Jungceylon site with K. Boonsong
Capt Sophon said that witnesses saw Narongsak’s pickup outside K. Boongsong’s room in Soi Wassana, off Rat-U-Thit 200 Phi Rd in Patong, at around 7 pm on November 20, about the same time that K. Boongsong was last seen by neighbors.
He added that after police found dried blood in the bed of his pickup, Narongsak confessed to police that he had been called by Boonjan and Pacheun to help dispose of K. Boonsong’s body.
The three drove close to Laem Daeng Beach and dumped the body in a ditch, where it was found four days later.
Capt Sophon said that Pacheun was jealous of K. Boonsong’s relationship with the landlady – 23-year-old Krissana “Nui” Kaew-wilai – of the Soi Wassana house where the deceased had lived. This jealousy had led to a fight between the two men.
