Thailand Yacht Show appoints event Ambassador
PHUKET: Rose Maitland-Smith has been appointed as the official Ambassador of the Thailand Yacht Show (TYS), which will take place at Ao Po Grand Marina under the patronage of Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha.
Phuket’s newest, largest and most exciting gathering of yachts, boats and luxury brands, brimming with parties and glamour, will open its doors on Thursday, February 11 and conclude on February 14.
“We are delighted to have Rose on board; not only does she have a great reputation here in Asia, but she also shares our passion for yachting and will contribute greatly to making the show a huge success,” said Andy Treadwell, managing director of the show.
The TYS has attracted a fantastic cross-section of exhibitors, including international brands, local Thai icons, lifestyle companies and a broad range of luxury boats and superyachts for sale and charter, the organizers say.
Burgess Yachts, one of the most renowned brokerage and charter companies in the world, is showcasing an exciting and diverse array of opulent vessels. Each of the superyachts on display offers a unique platform from which to take full advantage of Southeast Asia’s extensive and beautiful cruising grounds, with choices to suit a range of budgets and preferences: Titania (73m), Saluzi (69m), Northern Sun (50m), and Nanou (32m).
Another highlight at the show will be the yacht Ocean Emerald (41m) designed by Sir Norman Foster.
“In my eyes, yachts symbolize freedom. On a private cruise you can enjoy the best time with family and friends, especially around Phuket and the Andaman Sea with its fascinating natural sites,” said Ambassador Rose following the appointment. “It is a dream destination and I am proud to be part of it, and to support the team promoting it through this fantastic national yacht show.”
PGTV, for whom Rose presents her weekly ‘Rose’s Favorites’ lifestyle feature, is also proud to support the Thailand Yacht show, as national media partner alongside the Phuket Gazette and The Nation multimedia groups.
