Slapping, spitting, boxing and bottling
PHUKET: “He’s blown his only chance, the last thing you want to do is pick a fight with Vitali.”
Adam Booth, the boxing trainer of Britain’s David Haye (former WBA heavyweight champion), said Dereck Chisora lost any hope of beating WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko when he slapped him at Friday’s weigh-in… before their fight.
British boxer Chisora, born in Zimbabwe, infuriated the 6ft 7″ Ukranian further by spitting at his brother Walidimir during the introductions at their bout in Munich on Saturday night.
Chisora did indeed lose, but on points when most expected a vengeful Klitschko clubbing to end the fight before a decision was required.
However, the drama and fighting didn’t end with the final bell. In the post-fight press conference, Haye and Chisora hurled insults at each other before hurling a few punches then a few threats, when Chisora said he would “physically shoot” Haye and later that he would “burn” him, claiming that Haye “glassed” him during the fracas.
Booth was also injured during the melee attempting to break up the post-fight fight.
