Seven Suzukis for Phuket City Police
PHUKET TOWN: The Phuket Chamber of Commerce and two private sector companies on Wednesday took part in a ceremony to hand over seven donated motorbikes to the Phuket City Police.
Phuket City Police Superintendent Wanchai Ekpornpit accepted the Suzuki motorbikes at 10am in front of the police station.
Phuket Chamber of Commerce President Sirichai Silapa-archa said the chamber had joined forces with a local cable television operator and the Global i-care company to help police in the fight against crime.
Global i-care recently launched its Phuket Card, a Visa card that allows owners to collect ‘Gic’ points that can be redeemed for prizes and discounts at participating retailers.
The company claims that 5% of its total income is donated to charities aimed at helping disadvantaged people in Thailand.
The company will officially launch the card at a press conference at 4pm today at Jungceylon.
Those attending can get the cards free of charge.
