Police peep into Peep Inn

PHUKET TOWN: Police seized pornographic VCDs and arrested three employees after a raid on the Peep Inn hotel on Rattanakosin 200 Pi Rd yesterday afternoon. Governor CEO Pongpayome Vasaputi and Vice Governor Manit Wattanasen led police officers on the raid on what they termed a “love hotel”. Officers seized 52 pornographic VCDs, a television and a VCD player. Three hotel employees, Sudjai Srisawang, Lamai Jatirong, and Suwanna Navachai, were arrested and charged with participating in publishing obscene material. All have since been released on bail. The hotel owner, well-known businessman Sommai Dumrongkichkarnwong, was not on the premises at the time. Police have applied for a warrant for his arrest on the same charge as was leveled at his employees, and say he will also be questioned about building on public land. Governor Pongpayome said that an anonymous source informed authorities that the wall around the hotel was encroaching on public land. The information about the VCDs came from the police’s own investigation.
