Phuket gal to compete in Miss Tiffany final tonight

PHUKET: Chayutara “Ying” Meechaiprasert will be Phuket’s sole hope in the final round of the Miss Tiffany Universe 2013 beauty contest, which is to be televised live across the country tonight.

Ms Chayutara, a showgirl at the Aphrodite Cabaret on Phuket’s bypass road, will be sporting number 19 in the world-renowned ladyboy beauty pageant, the winner of which will go on to compete in the Miss International Queen 2013 contest.

“Nong Ying” completed high school at Phuket Wittayalai in Phuket Town and went on to graduate from Phuket Rajabhat University.

She will be competing against 29 other finalists who will take the stage at the traditional venue, the Tiffany’s Show theater in North Pattaya.

The annual event will be broadcast live on Thai TV Channel 7 tonight from 10:30pm through to the announcement of the winner at 1am.

In addition to being crowned with a diamond-encrusted tiara that is the envy of every ladyboy in Thailand, the winner will receive 120,000 baht prize money, a Honda Jazz car and the winner’s sash and trophy.

The “first runner-up” will receive 100,000 baht, while the “second runner-up” will receive 70,000 baht.

Among the other prizes to be won are 20,000 baht for Best Costume; 20,000 baht for Miss Photogenic; 20,000 baht for Miss Congeniality; 15,000 baht for Miss Kiss Sexy Star; and 20,000 baht for Most Stylish cocktail dress.

All winners in the minor categories will also receive sashes and trophies.
