Phuket Red Cross Fair lucky draw winner yet to claim B500k in gold

PHUKET: The lucky person who holds the winning ticket for the Red Cross Fair lucky draw top prize has yet to step forward and claim gold valued at nearly half a million baht.

Phuket Governor Maitri Inthusut led the draw for the prize at 10:30pm on Saturday night at the central stage area at Saphan Hin (map here), where the annual fair was held.

Drawn for the top prize of 20 bahtweight of gold ingots (a Thai standard of one bahtweight equaling 15.1 grams of raw gold) was ticket 59319.

According to the Gold Traders Association of Thailand, the 20 bahtweight in gold, as of this morning, had a current total trading value of 479,000 baht.

Also yet to be claimed are:
• 2nd prize: gold valued at about 250,000 baht (ticket 53548)
• 3rd prize: gold valued at about 120,000 baht (ticket 44476)
• 4th prize: gold 23,950 baht (tickets 25814, 47504 and 28839)

Any persons holding any of the following 30 tickets have each won a gold necklace valued at about 6,000 baht each: 19322 ,18047, 52274, 27656, 40466, 32646, 41307, 51377, 26850, 36960, 54718, 58745, 23785, 38656, 30355, 47440, 35795, 19993, 24578, 56517, 49325, 46303, 38896, 25851, 53836, 33638, 36690, 59411, 50541, 12856.

Maintaining the annual fair’s unofficial motto “where nearly everyone is a winner”, 50 persons who have tickets ending with 316 may claim their prize of an electric fan.

To claim their prizes, winners must present themselves and the winning ticket at Phuket Provincial Hall (map here), in Phuket Town (open Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm).

Winners have until February 28 to claim their prizes.
