Phuket Air slashes Andaman fares

PHUKET: Phuket Air has drastically reduced its economy class fares on flights between Phuket and Bangkok, and Krabi and Bangkok. The promotion offers one-way fares at 1,500 baht and round-trip fares at 3,000 baht. Previously, the best prices were 4,350 baht for the Krabi service, round-trip, and 3,950 baht for Phuket. Busara Dusadeeisariyawong, Southern Branch Manager of Phuket Air, told the Gazette, “Phuket and Krabi were chosen for this promotion because those areas attract many tourists. On these routes, 90% of passengers are foreigners. “Airline prices are intensely competitive, and many [airlines] are cutting air fares to survive. Prices are currently the most important factor for passengers,” she said. “So, Phuket Air has set cheap prices for both Thais and foreign passengers, and offers them the same pleasant standard of service. That is our selling point,” she added. Although the promotion is currently scheduled to end on July 31, K. Busara said, “If it proves to have high potential, we may extend it.” She added that the promotional tickets must be booked three days in advance.
