Panellists announced for Phuket Seminar
The hosts of the 14 December seminar on “The Prospects for Land Resource Management and Tourism in Phuket” have announced speakers from both the public and private sectors. Travelling from Bangkok for the occasion will be: – Rajatin Syamananda, Director-General, Town & Country Planning Dept – Thasanee Chantadisal, Director of the Urban & Environmental Planning Division, Office of Environmental Policy and Planning – Amnard Poltecha, Senior Policy & Planning Analyst, NESDB – Khun Auggaphol Brickshawana, Director of the Planning Dept, TAT Phuket-based panellists include: – Paiboon Upatising, Senator for Phuket – Sombat Atiset, President, Phuket Tourism Association – James R. Batt, Joint Managing Director, Laguna Resorts & Hotels – Wichit Na-Ranong, President, Thai Federation of Provincial Tourist Assns – O. B. Wetzell, Managing Director, Development Management Group – Methee Tanmanatragul, W.M. & K. Co Ltd The seminar, slated for 1 pm at the Royal Phuket City hotel, will be introduced by Phuket Governor Pongpayome Vasaputi and will be conducted in two sections. The first, starting at 1 pm, will cover planning (including zoning) and environmental issues, while the session beginning at 3:30 will focus on what the future might hold for tourism in Phuket. The event is open to the public and free of charge, but with seating limited to 200, priority will be given to those who have booked.
