No leads in mystery woman’s murder

PHUKET CITY: Police have yet to identify an Asian woman found murdered near Sri Suchart Grand View 2 housing estate, off the bypass road, on March 22.
Pol Maj Aikasit Pinkaew told the Gazette that, because of the condition of the corpse when it was found, investigators were not even sure whether the woman was Thai. Police believe she died three days before her body was discovered.
“A number of people have come to view her body but unfortunately no one has been able to identify her,” he said.
“It is difficult to investigate this case because we have no evidence and no relatives have come forward,” Maj Aikasit added.
The victim was found barefoot, dressed in a yellow T-shirt, blue jacket and white pants. She had been stabbed six times in the face and neck. One of two stab wounds to her face was vicious enough to crack her skull.
Investigators found no physical evidence at the murder scene apart from two bloodstained stones near the victim’s face.
