New team pledges allegiance to Phuket Governor

PHUKET: Phuket’s three new vice governors officially assumed their duties yesterday morning.
The Interior Ministry announced the appointments of Sanit Sriwihok, Theera Anantasereewittaya and Siwaporn Chuasawat last week (story here).
The V/Govs officially reported to Phuket Governor Dr Chokchai Dejamornthan, who arrived on September 30 to take up his post here on October 1, at Provincial Hall. The new team replaces Gov Chamroen Tipayapongtada and his deputies as part of the annual reshuffle of officials in Thailand (story here).
In keeping with tradition, the V/Govs visited several places on the island, including the Heroines’ Monument on Thepkrasattri Road as well as Wat Chalong.
The vice governors vowed to support Governor Chokchai’s policies to lead Phuket in the right direction.
“We will all work together and collaborate to try to fix Phuket’s problems,” said V/Gov Sanit. “We can’t promise to take care of everything, but we’ll do our best.
“We are here to work for Phuket. We look forward to cooperation from both government and the private sectors, as well as everyone else on the island,” he said.
