Music idol Todd Tongdee wants to see ‘magic mix’ of Thais and foreigners at Phuket World Musiq Fest

PHUKET: One of the lead organizers of the World Musiq Fest to be launched tomorrow evening at Saphin Hin in Phuket Town says he wants to see the concert audiences reflecting the name and character of the festival itself.

“It’s that magic mix of Thais and foreigners enjoying things together that generates the atmosphere and buzz to create a truly successful event in Thailand,” says national music idol Todd Lavelle Tongdee.

The American from Scranton, Pennsylvania, is in a position to know. He has lived in Thailand more than 20 years and is fluent in Thai, written and spoken.

The concerts are all in honor of His Majesty the King Bhumipol Adulyadej, who celebrates his 84th birthday on December 5.

The festival takes place December 2-5. Organized by the Phuket Provincial Administration Organization, lead by Chairman Paiboon Upatising, Phuket Municipality and Todd Tongdee himself, the event is billed as “a borderless celebration of the music and culture of Phuket, Thailand and Planet Earth.”

The concerts start at 4pm each day and close at midnight. Entry is free of charge.

The World Musiq Fest is sponsored by Singha Corporation, the Phuket Gazette and PGTV.
