Monsoon missed Phuket – weatherman

PHUKET: The weatherman said today that the strong southwesterly monsoon predicted to hit Phuket this week missed. Tawat Tantham-nu, director of the Southwestern Regional Meteorological center, told the Gazette that while there are still scattered clouds and isolated thunderstorms in the area, the southwestern coast will remain calm. He said that, with wave heights of only about one meter, people will be able to swim safely over the next three days at least.
