Major drug dealer busted

PHUKET: In one of the biggest ever drug busts in Phuket, Marine Police last night arrested a Krabi-based drug dealer and seized 6,350 pills of ya bah (methamphetamine). Pol Col Misakawan Buara, Superintendent of Phuket Marine Police, named the alleged dealer as Adisak Kreayot, 33. He said that officers posing as buyers contacted Adisak and arranged to make a “buy” in front of the Mummuang Market on Chao Fa Nai Rd, near Phuket Villa California. At around 8:30 pm, Adisak arrived at the rendezvous in a pick-up truck and walked over to the waiting officers. After they had handed over 500,000 baht and received the 6,350 pills from Adisak, the undercover officers identified themselves and arrested him on trafficking and possession charges. “He had with him a tissue box full of pills,” said Col Misakawan. “The rest of his friends in the pick-up drove away when they realized the ‘buyers’ were police officers.” The friends are being sought by the police. Adisak, meanwhile, is being held in Phuket Town Police Station while investigations continue.
