Local developers target Bangkok
BANGKOK: Property developers from Phuket and Koh Samui will head for the capital at the beginning of next month in a bid to capture a bigger slice of the Bangkok market for high-end homes. In a unique twist for a property show, the organizers of the Phuket & Samui Property Exhibition in Bangkok, to take place November 6-8, have arranged for exhibitors to offer the press a preview of their products in advance of the show itself. The opportunity comes in the form of a press conference to be held at 10:30 Thursday morning, October 30, at the Foreign Correspondents Club in Bangkok. According to a spokesman for the event, close to 40 media organizations will be on hand to ask questions of a panel assembled to speak on behalf of the booming Phuket and Samui property markets. The panel comprises Phuket OrBorJor President Dr Prasit Koeysiripong; Khun Orasa Dulyarat of Cabana Group, Koh Samui; Khun Siri Chomchan, chairman of Bangkok-based property developer Pacific Rim Rich Co; and Mr Paul Moorhouse, developer of Phuket’s Lakeshore Villas and Lakewood Hills. Following the formal exchange between press and panel, the exhibitors, all of whom have been invited to the media conference, will have about an hour to mingle with the journalists and talk about their projects. “This is a great opportunity for Phuket and Samui property developers and operators of lifestyle businesses, such as boating, to talk to the media and get some press coverage,” says Graham Doven, exhibition director. “Developers need to get good media coverage for their products, and having members of the international press there will ensure that their message gets across to readers everywhere, and in the readers’ own languages.” Senior members of the media will also be at the exhibition itself, which opens at noon on Thursday, November 6 in the Grand Ballroom of the Montien Hotel. The Phuket & Samui Property Exhibitions are held annually in Hong Kong, Bangkok and Singapore and have attracted wide interest from potential buyers in those key markets. Last month’s Hong Kong show saw the ‘on-the-spot’ sale of five top-end properties, and the opening of negotiations on four others ranging in price from 12-40 million baht each. The shows are organized by Mr Graham Doven and Artasia Press, and sponsored by the Phuket Gazette and the Nation Multimedia Group.
