Laguna Tri-Fest organizers announce Phuket road closures

PHUKET: Officials will close down sections of road to accommodate Challenge Laguna
Phuket Tri-Fest practice events and races. This will cause traffic tailbacks during the 10-day triathlon extravaganza starting this weekend.

Race organizers are asking that all drivers prepare for a 30-minute increase in travel time due to traffic congestion. Additionally, the following roads should be avoided if possible: 4030, 4015 and 4031.

“Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your kind understanding and cooperation,” race organizers said.

The road closures are listed by the organizers as follows:

November 22:

6am – 11:45am: All Laguna Phuket roads and Lagoon Road

6am – 9:45am: Old airport road (4031) from Baan Sakoo Junction – 402 junction (Baan Sakoo Junction – 3029/2017 Road – 402 traffic light junction)

6:30am – 8:45am: Naithon Road (Bann Don to Naithon) – 4031 junction (BAKE – Outrigger Villa –
Soi Layan 2 – Naithon Hill/Beach – Baan Sakoo Junction)

7:15am – 10am: Small roads north west of Thalang

7:30am – 11am: Thalang back roads – 4030 (Thalang-Cherngtalay Road)

7:30am – 11am: Baan Don Temple back roads (Baan Bang Joe – Baan Khao Lan 4024/4015/4008/4015)

7:30am – 11:15am: Cherng Talay – Thalang (4030)

November 26 and 29:

6am – 9am: Road 4030 – Cherng Talay Police Station – Baan Don – Thalang Market – Baan Riang – Baan Pruchampa – Baan Prusompan

6am – 12:30pm: 4031/402 Road – Old airport road junction – Prusompan Junction – Airport traffic light

6:30am – 12pm: 4002/4007 Road – Prusompan Junction – Baan Nopping – Muang Thalang School

6:45am – 11:30am: 4027 Road – Baan Muang Mai – Baan Ao Po Pier Junction

7am – 11am: Pa-Krongsheep Road – Thai-Swidish Road – Baan Pa-Krongsheep School

7am – 10am: 4005 Road – Leamsai School – Leamsai Beach – Mission Hills Golf Resort and Spa

7:30am – 11:30am: 4007 Road – Baan Ao-Kung – Radi Medical – Supalai Resort Grand Marina Junction – Baan Bang-Rong School – Baan Ao Po School

8am – 12:30pm: 4018 Road – Baan Sakoo Village – Nai Thon Beach – Laguna Home – BAKE
