Ill health led to suicide

PHUKET: A 67-year-old Thai man committed suicide by hanging himself on Sunday morning, just before a scheduled health check-up. Pol Lt Col Amnuan Kriwutthinant, of the Phuket Town police station, said Chanai Tulek, hung himself in his kitchen on 8/2 Baan Kuku, Moo 3, Rassadanusorn Rd. K. Chanai’s family told police that he had been worried about his health. He had been suffering from headaches, and went for a health check-up last Thursday. The doctor told him his blood pressure was high, and scheduled an appointment for Sunday morning for further tests. After returning from the check-up, he was very quiet. Over the next few days, K. Chanai’s family tried to cheer him up, but he remained depressed. On Saturday night, K. Chanai was staying with his daughter and niece. The next morning, his daughter found him hanging in the kitchen.
