Four injured in early-morning crash
PHUKET TOWN: Two Korean men and two Thai men were injured in a two-car accident early yesterday morning. Pol Capt Kitipong Klaikaew of Thung Thong Sub-District Police Station said that a pick-up truck and a jeep collided on Wichitsongkram Rd, west of the Thainaan Restaurant, at 2 am. At the scene – a part of the road that locals call “100 corpses curve” – the police found Samai Srisomboon, 32, and Lod Srita, 29, in a green pick-up truck. Not far from the truck, police also found a white jeep lying upside down on the side of the road with two Korean men, Kim Dae Hyun, 35, and Park Jong Myung, 29, inside. Both men were unconscious. Police removed the Koreans from the jeep and rushed them to hospital. Mr Park and Mr Kim are still being treated in the Phuket International Hospital. Mr Park is reported to have a broken leg. Mr Kim has cuts on his forehead and chin, and extensive bruising. K. Samai, the driver of the pick-up truck, and K. Lod, the passenger, were transferred to Bangkok Phuket Hospital. They were both treated for minor injuries and are now out of hospital. Pol Capt Kitipong said that police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
