FantaSea Aims for Mid-December Opening
KAMALA: Developers of Phuket FantaSea are shooting for a mid-December grand opening of the 3.3 billion baht entertainment complex, Director of Marketing Surin Bamrungphol told the Gazette earlier today. He said 85 percent of the construction work has been completed at the 350-rai site. With the buildings and infrastructure in place, work is continuing on interior improvements and the installation of technical systems for shows with special effects. Phuket FantaSea, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bangkok-Based Safari World Public Limited Company, will feature traditional Thai cultural shows with a Las Vegas-style flair. One of the highlights of the show will be a disappearing act performed with live elephants. The complex will also boast a 4,000-seat restaurant, 16 shops and a promenade with carnival games. Admission to Phuket FantaSea will be 1,400 baht per ticket, the spokesman said.
