Early vote registration in Phuket ends tomorrow

PHUKET: Tomorrow is the last day for Phuket residents who will be out of town on July 3 to register to vote early on June 26 in the upcoming general election.

Phuket Election Commission Director Kitipong Thiengkunakrit is urging all such residents to register at the District Office or subdistrict (tambon or municipality) office where they reside.

The early vote polling station for Phuket Constituency 1 will be set up on June 26 at Phuket City Hall on Narisorn Road in Phuket Town.

The early voting polling station for Phuket Constituency 2 will be set up on June 26 at Phranangsang School in Thalang.

In Phuket 1, there are 112,482 eligible voters among 162,386 official residents.

In Phuket 2, there are 136,726 eligible voters among 185,278 official residents.

Mr Kitipong also revealed that there were 40,630 people who were not Phuket residents registered for absentee balloting to take place on June 26.

The polling station for absentee voters will be at Phuket Community Hall, opposite the Governor’s Mansion on Narisorn Road.
