BREAKING NEWS: Phuket to pull new year all-nighter

PHUKET: Revellers in Phuket’s party capital of Patong are allowed to party all night tonight to usher in the new year, Deputy Mayor Chairat Sukhaban confirmed today.

Two areas on Patong Beach have been cordoned off for people who can party until sunrise, he told the Gazette.

One area is at the beach road end of Bangla Road and the other is opposite the Thaweewong Post Office, also on the beach road, he explained.

Patong Police Superintendent Arayapan Pukbuakhao also confirmed that all businesses in the entertainment zone are allowed to stay open until 6am tomorrow.

“If entertainment venues in your area close, Patong will welcome everyone until sunrise,” said Mr Chairat.
