Army security inspection this Friday
PHUKET CITY: Phuket Governor Udomsak Uswarangkura, speaking at the monthly Provincial Security and Safety Committee meeting at the Thavorn Grand hotel today, said that every province must prepare a security and safety emergency plan ahead of a scheduled military inspection this Friday.
At the 9 am meeting, he ordered Phuket Provincial Chief Administrative Officer (Palad) Nivit Aroonrat to set a meeting for later in the day to discuss security measures with related agencies, including the Phuket Provincial Police, Phuket Provincial Governor’s Office, Phuket Marine Police Office, Phuket Provincial Public Health Office, the Phuket Office for Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (ODPM), and the Naval Third Area Command.
Gov Udomsak said that the meeting is to brief officials, review the existing security and safety plan, and prepare for the inspection by the Army Fourth Area Commander, Lt Gen Ongkorn Thongprasom, who will come to observe the province’s readiness this Friday.
“We should continue to take action for our security and safety, even though there has been no violence during the coup, because Phuket is an important tourism province,” Gov Udomsak said.
